About the position

The Medical Technologist role is responsible for independently performing and monitoring laboratory testing of patient specimens. This includes confirming, interpreting, correlating, and reporting normal and abnormal patient results. The Medical Technologist must recognize technical, instrumental, and/or physiological problems and initiate resolutions. Additionally, the role involves ensuring accuracy, quality control, and required instrument maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform and monitor laboratory testing of patient specimens.
  • Confirm, interpret, correlate, and report normal and abnormal patient results.
  • Recognize technical, instrumental, and/or physiological problems and initiate resolutions.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality control in laboratory testing.
  • Perform required instrument maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science required.
  • Current applicable state(s) license as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or as a Categorical Technologist (e.g., C, H, MB, BB, M) by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT) required within six months of start date.
