About the position

The Medical Technologist role is responsible for independently performing and monitoring laboratory testing of patient specimens and confirms, interprets, correlates, and reports normal and abnormal patient results. The technologist recognizes technical, instrumental and/or physiological problems and initiates resolutions. This position is responsible for accuracy, quality control, and required instrument maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize technical, instrumental, and/or physiological problems and initiate resolutions.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality control in laboratory testing.
  • Perform required instrument maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science required.
  • Current applicable state(s) license as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or as a Categorical Technologist (e.g., C, H, MB, BB, M) by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT) required within six months of start date.
