About the position

The position involves performing both simple and complex analyses on tissue, blood, and body fluids using laboratory instrumentation, as well as manual methods and procedures. The individual in this role will approve the performance of tests conducted by technicians and will be accountable for patient tests, ensuring a high standard of quality. This includes exercising independent judgment in the execution of standard operating procedures and utilizing complex instrumentation in various sample environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform simple and complex analysis on tissue, blood, and body fluids.
  • Approve the performance of tests by technicians.
  • Assume accountability for patient tests by providing a high standard of quality.
  • Utilize independent judgment in the performance of standard operating procedures and complex instrumentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent that meets qualifications for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist from the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel.
  • Must meet state licensure requirements as stated in FL Statue 64B3-5.003 Technologist.
  • One (1) year experience in NAACLS approved program.
  • One (1) year working as a Technologist in a hospital laboratory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, or related field for new hires effective October 1, 2024.
  • Academic equivalent or academic and work experience combination equivalency acceptable.
