About the position

The Medical Technologist performs routine and/or complex Clinical Laboratory procedures within any or all the sections of the Clinical Laboratory to include Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Urinalysis with special emphasis on assigned department.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical procedures in appropriate departments
• Collects specimens as needed
• Processes specimens appropriately
• Reports results accurately and timely
• Exhibits excellent communication and telephone skills
• Consistently follows hospital departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science - MT/MLS
• Associate Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related science - MLT
• Successful completion of School for Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science

Nice-to-haves

• Certification as MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), CLS(NCA) or equivalent preferred
