Starr Regional Medical Center is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Medical Technologist for our Laboratory department. This job is permanent, full-time.
Responsibilities
Performs common testing procedures and reports test results.
Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
Performs quality control testing.
Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.
Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.
Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.
Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology.
ASCP certification by a CLIA approved credentialing organization OR BS equivalency by passing a certification exam.
Clinical Laboratory Personnel Technologist license in Tennessee.
MT (ASCP) certification OR equivalent MT/MLS (AMT) OR State of Tennessee Medical Technologist license OR Medical Technologist- General Supervisor required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days of hire.
