Medical Technologist, PRN

About the position

The Medical Technologist position is a PRN role requiring work every other Saturday and Sunday from 6 AM to 6:30 PM, with a holiday rotation. The technologist will independently perform laboratory procedures for which they have been trained and demonstrated competency. This includes conducting laboratory testing on patients of all ages, executing, interpreting, and analyzing results in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Executes, interprets, and analyzes laboratory results in an accurate and timely manner.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required plus sufficient college and/or technical school courses and clinical training.
• Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by ASCP, AMT, or AAB.
• No prior experience required beyond education/training requirement.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology, or in a life/biological science.
• One year of supervised clinical experience as a medical technologist in a clinical setting.
• Competency in areas of the laboratory including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood bank, and microbiology.
