About the position

The Medical Laboratory Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by providing accurate and timely test results that are essential for diagnosing and managing human illnesses. This position involves utilizing both automated and manual methods to handle various biological specimens, ensuring quality control, and maintaining laboratory instruments. The role is integral to supporting patient care and enhancing the overall health system's mission of empowering individuals to achieve wellness.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely patient test results for diagnosis and management of illnesses.
• Utilize automation and computerization, as well as manual methods, in laboratory testing.
• Perform quality control and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues as they arise.
• Handle various biological specimens including blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, and spinal fluid.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• MLT - Medical Laboratory Technologist Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
• Registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
• Experience in an automated clinical laboratory setting.
• Superior customer service skills.
