Corewell Health is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for this opportunity. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24, 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital. Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, with more than 1,400 Beaumont doctors on faculty. The position involves performing a variety of routine or specialized tests and procedures for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of patients in one or more areas of work, such as Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Immunohematology, Histocompatibility, Flow Cytometry, Molecular Pathology, Ancillary Testing, Microbiology and other specialty departments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine or specialized tests and procedures for diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Work in various areas such as Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Immunohematology, Histocompatibility, Flow Cytometry, Molecular Pathology, Ancillary Testing, and Microbiology.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university with 16 semester hours in biology including one semester in microbiology.
  • 16 semester hours in chemistry including one semester in organic or biochemistry.
  • Completion of a clinical laboratory approved or accredited program by NAACLS or at least three months documented laboratory training in each specialty.
  • Clinical internship proof of completion.
  • Official ASCP BOC approval confirming eligibility to take the certification exam.
  • Completion of a NAACLS accredited clinical internship or equivalent experience/training.
  • ASCP Medical Laboratory Scientist - MLS(ASCP) certification.
  • ASCP Medical Technologist - MT(ASCP) certification (if obtained prior to October 2009).
  • ASCP International Medical Laboratory Scientist - MLS(ASCPi) certification (if obtained after January 1, 2015).
  • AMT Medical Technologist - MT(AMT) certification (if obtained after 2010).
