About the position

Del Sol Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our team and ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Under general supervision, the Medical Technologist will perform routine, complex or specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological, serological and immunoassay procedures on body fluids which will aid in the diagnosis and evaluation of the treatment of diseases while maintaining the highest standards of medical technology. The position involves performing related quality control and clerical work as required. Clinical Laboratory services are performed on patients from Neonate to Geriatric ages.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses laboratory equipment
• Performs and reports testing on QC and patient specimens rapidly and without delay
• Demonstrates competence in performing testing procedures
• Performs related quality control and clerical work as required
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Current BCLS certification required
• Bachelor degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred certification as a Laboratory Medical Technologist, MT(ASCP), or equivalent certification from a recognized accrediting agency
• General 1-3 years clinical laboratory experience or equivalent clinical lab training
• Skills and knowledge in medical laboratory technology
• Ability to problem solve
