About the position

The Member Advocate (Spanish-speaking) at Unitus Community Credit Union plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to members by initiating sales, processing transactions, and assisting with account openings and loan applications. This position is integral to fostering a positive member experience and contributing to the credit union's commitment to unparalleled service.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate sales and assist members in-person with account openings and loan applications.
  • Process routine monetary and non-monetary transactions with a focus on fraud prevention and accuracy.
  • Develop knowledge of credit union products and services, as well as internal systems for managing member accounts.
  • Collaborate with staff across branches to resolve member inquiries and concerns.
  • Exceed sales and service goals with a member-focused approach.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a fast-paced customer service role, assisting customers in person or by phone.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience using technology for work tasks.
  • Experience in a credit union or bank, particularly with financial services products and cross-selling skills is preferred.
  • Ability to be certified through NMLS and as a Notary Public in Oregon/Washington.
  • Experience with cash handling is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
