About the position

The Member Service Advisor plays a crucial role in welcoming members to the Credit Union and providing exceptional service by identifying their needs and offering suitable financial solutions. This position involves processing consumer loan applications, making loan decisions, and handling transactions and account changes in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome members to the Credit Union and deliver excellent service.
  • Process accurate and timely account transactions and maintenance.
  • Provide members with information about the features and benefits of current products and services.
  • Accurately open member and business accounts.
  • Originate consumer loan applications and collect necessary paperwork for processing.
  • Provide backup to teller functions as needed.
  • Solve problems based on required skill level and multitask to complete daily work and other assigned duties.
  • Take initiative to expand knowledge and take on additional responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • Strong language, math, and reasoning skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Higher level education and/or experience may result in advanced level placement.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures.
