About The Position

We are seeking skilled Metal Machinists to join our growing team in Henderson with the opportunity to develop knowledge of in-situ machining work. Whether you're an experienced manual machinist or a skilled CNC machinist looking to expand your expertise into this exciting field, this is your opportunity to grow and work on unique, hands-on projects. Based in our Henderson workshop where we complete jobbing works, there will be ample opportunity to take part in in-situ machining works within the Perth Metro area and also around the nation should you choose. In-situ machining is a specialized field that takes machining expertise directly to our customers sites. It's a dynamic and rewarding role that requires precision, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. Learn to operate line boring machines, portable radial mills, portable XYZ milling machines, portable CNC machines, flange facers and much more!

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or CNC Machinist in either milling or turning
  • Strong interest in transitioning to on-site machining
  • ARC or MIG welding experience preferred but not essential
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel and work in a variety of environments
  • A commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work
  • Relevant certifications or trade qualifications in metal machining, first class machinist, fitter machinist or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with in-situ machining techniques
  • Familiarity with various machining tools and equipment

Responsibilities

  • Setting up & machining on various machines; CNC Lathes, CNC Mills, CNC Horizontal borers, Manual machining
  • In-situ machining various types including line boring, CNC milling, manual milling, drilling tapping, flange facing and radial milling
  • Carry out manufacture of products to drawing specifications, samples & instructions
  • Maintain measuring and inspection equipment in good order while also having a high level of housekeeping within the machining areas
  • Ensure machines are running productively, monitoring set up and down times to produce parts as efficiently as possible
  • Liaise with Programmer or Workshop Manager to review machining process and tooling
  • Completion of dimensional inspection reports and associated paper work
  • Assist in other areas as directed by the Workshop Manager
