About the position

The METRC & Operations Manager at M&J Agronomics is responsible for overseeing compliance with the METRC system and managing daily operations within the cannabis cultivation and production environment. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in operations management and compliance, ensuring that all processes meet state and local regulations while optimizing efficiency across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all METRC-related operations, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Accurately track and report inventory, transfers, harvests, bucking, waste, and other data in the METRC system.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory discrepancies in METRC and internal tracking systems.
  • Stay up-to-date on METRC updates, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Train team members on METRC procedures and ensure consistent compliance.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and regulatory compliance across departments.
  • Develop and implement SOPs for inventory management, production tracking, and other operational processes.
  • Collaborate with department heads to optimize workflows and improve operational performance.
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory, records, and processes to maintain compliance and accuracy.
  • Support production, packaging, and distribution teams in maintaining a smooth supply chain.
  • Supervise and mentor staff involved in inventory, compliance, and operations.
  • Manage Trim Room Supervisor and Preroll Production Lead.
  • Facilitate communication between compliance, production, and sales teams.
  • Provide regular performance feedback and address training needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with METRC in a cannabis farm operation (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong understanding of state and local cannabis regulations.
  • Experience in inventory management, supply chain logistics, or operations management.
  • Proficiency in METRC, inventory software, and general office software (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience managing a team in a compliance-heavy environment.
  • Familiarity with seed-to-sale tracking systems beyond METRC.
  • Knowledge of production processes in cannabis cultivation or manufacturing.
