About the position

The Manager of Project Execution at Exelon Corporation is responsible for directing the personnel and activities of the Innovation/Research and Development (R&D) Department. This role involves the development, definition, and implementation of processes and financial management tools to oversee and effectively manage projects, control costs, assure adherence to schedules, prioritize projects and resources, and forecast budgets. The position emphasizes innovation and R&D, aiming to foster a high-performance culture while managing a portfolio of projects that align with business goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the personnel and activities of the Innovation/R&D Department.
  • Manage the budget of an assigned portfolio of work.
  • Establish and monitor business plans and objectives.
  • Balance cost control with service level needs.
  • Develop and maintain an environment that fosters a high performance culture and a learning organization.
  • Lead the Project Management team in promoting diversity.
  • Serve as an agent for innovation and R&D initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and development for direct reports.
  • Conduct Performance Planning and Appraisal process.
  • Interface with other departments and represent Exelon to other business units regarding projects under management.
  • Manage large and/or highly complex projects or programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field and 7-10 years relevant project management or related experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or achieve PMP within two years of job entry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing large, complex projects using project management techniques.
  • Proven leadership ability in a high-performance culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and communicate effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in engineering or Business Administration.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience or knowledge of utility design/planning/construction or Information Technology.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
