About the position
The position involves building solutions for internal and external projects using Power BI and Power Platform, focusing on the development and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards. The role requires troubleshooting application issues, ensuring production changes adhere to lifecycle methodology, and delivering high-quality service to internal users. The candidate will also conduct technical and analytical work, assess new software products, and collaborate with clients to identify application and analytical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Build solutions for internal and external projects using Power BI and Power Platform.
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Identify and troubleshoot application and report issues.
- Ensure production changes are made in accordance with lifecycle methodology and risk guidelines.
- Act as an internal expert on assigned systems and document changes made to base systems.
- Conduct technical and analytical work to develop and analyze technical solutions for clients.
- Participate in client needs assessments and evaluate software requirements.
- Design and develop applications using Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform, and Office 365 services.
- Implement custom solutions leveraging Power BI and Microsoft services.
- Document processes and procedures for creating and maintaining Power BI reports and applications.
- Perform business analysis to identify opportunities for improvement through data visualization.
- Lead special projects and delegate tasks to team members.
- Liaise with IT regarding applications and data governance, focusing on Power BI data sources.
- Perform unit testing on Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Liaise with QA team for system and user acceptance testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or 6+ years equivalent experience required.
- 3+ years' experience with Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience developing applications on the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, SharePoint, Teams, and PowerApps.
- Knowledge of Power BI data querying and modeling capabilities using DAX.
- Experience in database development, including complex queries and stored procedures.
- Familiarity with all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Ability to troubleshoot software systems and optimize performance.
- Strong communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
