About The Position

The Mid Level Data Scientist at Leidos will support GEOINT integration work while acting as a Data Scientist for the customer. This role involves data management, automation support, and the development of modernized data management workflows. The Data Scientist will collaborate with domain experts to analyze data, build algorithms, and convey complex information to non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Typically requires a BA degree and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or a Master's with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.
• 3-6 years' experience in programming languages such as Python or R for statistical analysis and basic machine learning algorithms.
• Working knowledge of ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcPro.
• Familiarity with common data science libraries and frameworks, including PostgreSQL, Postgis, PgAdmin.
• Experience with application programming interfaces (APIs).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with workflow management systems, such as Flowable.
• Working knowledge of MapInfo/MapBasic GIS/database software.
• Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Provide the customer with data management and automation support.
• Assist in data investigations using applied statistics and building algorithms.
• Collaborate with domain expertise to convey complicated realities to non-technical audiences.
• Develop a modernized data management workflow for customer programs.
• Work with Senior Data Scientist on database management processes and workflows.
• Research and understand current customer data management workflows.
• Plan new workflows ensuring automation is built in.
• Ensure new workflows integrate seamlessly with modernized database applications and enterprise-level APIs.
• Build on existing models and simulations of production and change detection data.
• Assist in coding and scripting, converting existing scripts to Python.
• Implement enterprise database management processes.
• Automate repetitive data management tasks.
• Deliver service solutions that integrate best practices to modernize current practices.
• Visualize disparate data sources to provide understandable dashboards.
