This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to spend three days a week in the office while enjoying the flexibility to work remotely for two days. As a Mid-Level Structural Engineer at Sargent & Lundy, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design directly. You will be a vital member of an engineering and design team, working on a diverse range of power transmission modifications and upgrades to support client recommendations and reviews. Your responsibilities will include creating calculations, documenting designs, and preparing specifications. In this position, you will tackle challenging assignments that involve investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving various structural engineering issues. You will perform structural analysis and detailed design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment, and foundations. Additionally, you will develop integrated structural designs and conduct supporting calculations for the planned work. Direct interaction with clients will be a key aspect of your role, where you will communicate technical information effectively. Your responsibilities will also include preparing technical specifications for structural materials and conducting independent reviews of work performed by others, including calculations and drawing preparation. You will coordinate and provide guidance to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure a complete and timely design. Furthermore, you will review existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, presenting your findings and recommendations to clients and peers.
