Middleware; AS2 /EDI Consultant

About the position

Belcan is excited to be helping our client in hiring a Middleware; AS2 /EDI Consultant in Pittsburgh, PA! The client is looking for an experienced Middleware specialist with in-depth knowledge of AS2 protocols, proficient in managing and implementing secure data exchange between trading partners using industry standard EDI tools and platforms, adept at troubleshooting connectivity issues and ensuring smooth B2B integration. The individual will be responsible for self-contained execution of complex tasks within an IT service (e.g. application services, platform hosting) within a certain framework. The geographical scope is global.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for complex tasks dealing with support and enhancements of the IT infrastructure and applications that address electronic interfaces between our systems and to and from third party solutions including cloud services.
• Global responsibility as we expand our subscriptions to third party software and services (such as Workday for HR, Service Now for service integration, SAP Cloud services), and continue to engage strategic third-party partners for Logistics, Procurement, Accounts Payable and other critical business functions.
• Troubleshot and resolved EDI communication errors, including AS2 protocol issues, certificate validation failures, and data mapping discrepancies.
• Configure trading partner profiles, including AS2 security settings and communication parameters.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address business requirements for middleware integration.
• Consults on alternatives and designs the architecture for system integrations.
• Creates and supports the solutions.
• Acts as a trusted business advisor to steer the technology direction for electronic interfaces.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a closely related field and at least eight years of related experience or a master's degree in business administration, information technology or a closely related field and at least five years of related experience.
• Knowledgeable of the latest technologies and deep understanding of security and integration with firewalls, proxies, gateways and encryption necessary to provide secure and trusted interfaces.
• Successfully implemented and maintained AS2 connections with multiple trading partners, ensuring secure and reliable data exchange.
• Developed and executed EDI data mapping rules to translate internal systems data into compliant EDI transaction sets.
• Experience maintaining AWS services (EC2, S3) in a corporate AWS cloud environment.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to work in complex environments.
• Working effectively with ambiguity.
• Leadership skills for planning and alignment of resources and technologies to meet deliverables.
• Ability to build effective teams from multiple technologies and often including external partners and coordination and integration with third parties.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in SAP Cloud Integration would be preferred.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with our business partners and providing global, stable, reliable, secure mission critical solutions.
