About The Position

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Knowledge of steel manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Tend one or more steel mills to form welded steel coils into tubing.
• Obtain and review the next order with Service and Takeoff Operators.
• Perform initial mill setup operations.
• Verify that staged material and packaging match shop orders.
• Manually check scarfing tools and replace them if necessary.
• Retrieve product samples, measure them, and make adjustments as needed.
• Enter results into the Work In Progress (WIP) system.
• Visually verify that tubing is correct.
• Generate production tags for tracking.
• Check tubing according to work instructions.
• Review all shop orders with the Service Operator, including verification and documentation of steel tubing during the manufacturing process.
