About the position
The position requires a skilled individual to perform various tasks related to industrial maintenance and machining. The candidate will be responsible for working from complex blueprints, drawings, plans, and sketches to layout, install, align, balance, inspect, test, and repair a wide variety of systems and equipment. This includes carpentry, plumbing, pipe fitting, masonry, refractory, riggings, and combustion. The role also involves assisting, directing, and training apprentices in the Millwright classification, as well as operating various material handling equipment such as cranes and forklifts. Additionally, the candidate will perform maintenance and repairs on service boilers and manage boiler water treatment services.
Responsibilities
- Work from complex blueprints, drawings, plans, and sketches to layout, install, align, balance, inspect, test, and repair systems and equipment.
- Assist, direct, and train apprentices in the Millwright classification.
- Operate material handling equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and hydraulic Cherry Pickers.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on service boilers and manage boiler water treatment services.
- Maintain records of work performed.
- Ensure safe usage of electric bug for transportation.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and Millwright journeyman's card or six (6) years' experience in industrial/manufacturing machining.
- Possess a bona fide Journeyman Certificate in the Craft or documentation substantiating at least 6 years of related experience in the Craft.
- Punctual and regular attendance is required.
- Passing score on math and measurements test.
- Successful completion of writing sample.
- Ability to perform the essential job functions and physical requirements.
