About the position

Wheeler Machinery Co. is looking for a Mining Electrical Service Engineer to provide technical assistance focused on electrical drive systems for Caterpillar mining machines. The role aims to improve machine reliability and ensure customer satisfaction through effective problem-solving and system tuning.

Responsibilities

• Resolve field problems by investigating, analyzing, and collaborating with engineering to develop solutions.
• Commission and tune drive systems for new machines and upgrade packages for existing machines.
• Provide recommendations for hardware and software improvements to increase productivity and decrease maintenance.
• Work both mechanically and electrically on all Caterpillar Mining Equipment.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent degree.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in DC drive systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office Products: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Preferred experience with PLC Software - Siemens, Allen Bradley, GE; Analog and Digital Drive Systems - Siemens, GE.
• MSHA Certification preferred.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
