About The Position

The Mining Project Manager at Stantec is responsible for leading and managing mining studies, serving as the principal liaison between the company and its clients. This role involves driving the planning and execution of various mining projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives, and delivering integrated studies on time and within budget. The Project Manager will lead a multi-disciplinary team, implement study management processes, and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant study/project management experience.
• Proven study or project leadership experience with high emotional intelligence.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to effectively liaise with external and internal stakeholders from multiple cultures.
• Comfort in managing in a complex environment with a virtual team.

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineering license (or the ability to obtain a license).
• Direct study experience in the mining and/or heavy industry sectors.

Responsibilities

• Understand the client's objectives and study definition guidelines.
• Drive the scope definition and execution planning for each study.
• Implement study management processes and procedures, including risk and value management.
• Deliver integrated studies on time and within budget, ensuring alignment between engineering, estimating, scheduling, and risk.
• Serve as a technical peer reviewer or Qualified Person in the execution of the technical components of the work.
• Provide daily guidance and communications to the project team, developing the team's technical competence.
• Assist the client with crafting the story of their studies and engage with other client stakeholders.
