About the position

The Project Manager at HED is responsible for leading and directing architectural and engineering project teams in all aspects of professional services. This role involves maintaining communication between the project team, clients, consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities. The Project Manager oversees project activities, ensuring compliance with client and contract requirements while managing project planning, scheduling, staffing, and quality goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct multi-disciplinary AE teams through all phases of a project including programming, schematic design, design development, construction document, and construction administration services.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor Project Plans and strategies.
  • Manage client activities and contracts, ensuring adherence to the Owner/Architect Agreement.
  • Identify and secure additional service fees for activities outside the Owner/Architect Agreement.
  • Manage overall project schedule and develop short-term schedules and tasks with the project team.
  • Establish and monitor discipline hour budgets and staffing needs to meet profit goals.
  • Prepare contract forms for Owners and Consultants and monitor adherence to those contracts.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage all required design and technical reviews throughout the project phases.
  • Manage the Project Team during the bidding and construction administration phase.
  • Participate in marketing efforts including client maintenance, proposals, and interviews as directed by leadership.
  • Assist in the post-construction evaluation process when requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering.
  • Professional Licensure.
  • Minimum ten years' professional experience in AE or Client-Side Project Management.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional services from marketing through project close-out.
  • Experience in Mission Critical and/or Data Center design/development is strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the coordination of all design disciplines.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills, strong organizational skills.
