The role also involves assisting with color changes, troubleshooting part abnormalities, and completing minor repairs on tools and end-of-arm tooling. The Mold Setter is expected to ensure the setup of machines and support equipment, such as chillers and hot runners, is done correctly. Quality inspections are a key part of the job, and the Mold Setter must be prepared to operate equipment and support production team members in achieving production objectives. The position also emphasizes the importance of developing and supporting standardized work processes to ensure best practices in employee training, scheduling, and meeting customer output requirements. Participation in training courses to enhance efficiency in production, timing, and cost control is expected. Responsibilities

  • Operate machine shop and mold press equipment under supervision.
  • Change molds as required by the production schedule.
  • Confirm that the mold or process is functioning correctly and report any abnormalities.
  • Perform tasks such as milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding, and inspections.
  • Assist in color changes and troubleshoot part abnormalities.
  • Complete small repairs of tools and end-of-arm tooling.
  • Ensure setup of machines and support equipment like chillers and hot runners.
  • Conduct quality inspections and support production team members in achieving objectives.
  • Develop and support standardized work processes for training and scheduling.
  • Participate in training courses for efficiency in production, timing, and cost control.
  • Lead the application of the 5S philosophy in the workplace.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of production rate scheduling and planning.
  • Experience with quality control procedures to meet production characteristics.
  • Knowledge of Kanban systems and applications to support operations.
  • Ability to develop and report detailed information and identify countermeasures.
  • Good safety record and ability to promote a safe work environment.
  • Ability to lift over 30 pounds.
  • Good language skills.
