About the position

The Montessori Teacher position involves guiding and nurturing children in a Montessori environment, adhering to the Montessori philosophy, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning atmosphere. The role includes responsibilities such as assisting with meals, diaper changing, and maintaining a clean classroom, while also fostering children's development and progress through effective communication and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Following all instructions from the Montessori Philosophy
• Assisting in meals and clean up
• Following proper procedures for diaper changing
• Assisting students in potty training
• Writing daily reports for each student
• Helping with all Montessori instruction
• Supervising children in care
• Participating in all staff meetings, parent nights, and other events
• Treating all students with respect
• Preparing and maintaining a clean, aesthetic classroom environment
• Ensuring all minimum standards are followed
• Keeping records of children's progress
• Comforting an upset child
• Showing love and concern for each child in care

Requirements

• Valid Montessori Certification preferred
• Experience in working in a licensed childcare center as an Assistant Teacher
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work with a Lead Montessori Teacher
• Ability to follow directions
