Responsibilities

• Evaluate loan applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility for mortgage loans.
• Assess risk and make informed decisions regarding loan approvals or denials.
• Ensure compliance with FHA, VA, and Conventional loan guidelines and regulations.
• Communicate with loan officers and clients to gather necessary information and clarify any discrepancies.
• Review credit reports, income statements, and other financial documents to assess borrower creditworthiness.
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and rationale for approvals or denials.

Requirements

• Experience as an Underwriter in the mortgage industry.
• Certification in underwriting is required.
• Familiarity with FHA, VA, and Conventional loan products and guidelines.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
