About the position

The MP&P Engineer 2 - Chemical position is a critical role within our engineering team, focusing on the definition and management of requirements for materials, parts, and processes used in the manufacturing of products. This position involves drafting specifications and other essential documents to ensure the effective deployment of materials and processes. The engineer will assist in evaluating emerging technologies that could be applied to meet business needs and will play a key role in the development and qualification of new materials and processes to meet stringent requirements. Routine testing and audits will be performed to qualify suppliers against applicable standards, and the engineer will conduct analyses to identify the reasons for failures in materials, parts, or processes, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary. The role requires a proactive approach to developing computer and production systems that satisfy user requirements, all while working under general supervision. The engineer will be expected to evaluate parts, materials, processes, technology, or equipment through thorough research and testing to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with specifications. Analyzing failed parts and processes to mitigate future failures is a key responsibility, as is generating test plans, cataloging test data, and documenting results and recommendations. The engineer will also propose and validate revisions to procedures and specifications, ensuring the suitability of parts and materials while coordinating resolutions with suppliers and customers. Continuous improvement is a core focus of this role, with the engineer supporting product and process enhancements by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating, and implementing new concepts and technologies. Providing technical consultation to both internal and external customers is essential, as is performing specialized testing on paints and sealants to develop materials with enhanced characteristics for future programs. The engineer will generate testing coupons, operate test equipment, conduct test activities, and maintain compliance with laboratory safety practices, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
