About the position

The position involves performing a wide variety of technical MRI procedures that require independent judgment and ingenuity. The role necessitates the initiative to apply appropriate MRI skills to facilitate accurate diagnoses. Responsibilities may include independent tasks assigned by the Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, or Operations Manager. Proper care of clients in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures is essential. The individual may also be responsible for supervising or instructing MRI personnel as determined by the Operations Manager or Lead Technologist. Infection control and body substance isolation practices must be adhered to in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and OSHA standards. Maintaining patient confidentiality is a critical aspect of the role. The position requires demonstrating proper operation of PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems, as well as the ability to operate and troubleshoot CR, DR, and PACS applications. Attendance at annual mandatory education sessions, including topics such as blood borne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation, is required. Additionally, maintaining department competencies is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of technical MRI procedures.

  • Assume independent responsibilities as assigned by Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, or Operations Manager.
  • Provide proper care of clients in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Supervise or instruct MRI personnel as determined by Operations Manager or Lead Technologist.
  • Practice infection control and body substance isolation in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrate proper operation of PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems.
  • Operate and troubleshoot CR, DR, and PACS applications.
  • Attend annual mandatory education sessions to maintain competencies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Student Training in MRI or related field.
  • Completion of formal AMA approved program for MRI or Diagnostic X-Ray preferred.
  • CPR certification required.
  • ARRT(MR) certification within two years of hire.
  • ARRT(RTR) certification preferred.
  • MALIC - Mass Radiography License preferred.
