About the position

The Indirect / MRO Buyer at Brunswick is responsible for the procurement of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) and capital goods essential for supporting ongoing plant and facility operations. This role involves managing supplier relationships, executing purchasing initiatives, and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of goods and services to various internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders for MRO products and services.
  • Handle purchase requisitions for non-production items.
  • Establish professional relationships with suppliers and communicate priorities for critical shipments.
  • Execute initiatives from Brunswick indirect sourcing.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for material cost reductions through advanced negotiation techniques.
  • Enter all projects in the TCA database.
  • Identify and communicate component quality issues.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all MSC related issues and manage onsite MSC personnel.
  • Manage MRO inventory levels within defined parameters.
  • Track daily stock pulls and PPE pulls.
  • Fill MRO shop floor manager requests to appropriate areas.
  • Investigate and resolve AP invoice holds.
  • Coordinate and submit warranties to vendors.
  • Verify supplier shipments against purchase orders upon delivery to MRO.
  • Setup new MRO items with correct master data.
  • Coordinate and track power tool asset tags.
  • Monitor MSC, MAGID, and Airgas machines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in purchasing or materials management preferred.
  • MRP experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred (Ultriva, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, etc.).
  • Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Lean Six Sigma and Statistical Analysis experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in negotiations and problem solving with suppliers.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Strong decision-making, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage conflict and handle difficult situations professionally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools.
