About the position

WCBS-TV is seeking an experienced multi-skilled journalist who is committed to ethical reporting and can provide in-depth context and insight on significant issues. The role requires a journalist who can shoot, write, and edit compelling stories while being organized and self-sufficient. The ideal candidate will engage viewers with crisp, conversational copy and seek diverse perspectives for all stories.

Responsibilities

• Shoot, write, and edit visually compelling stories.
• Develop and pitch enterprise story ideas that can be completed in a single day.
• Write a digital version of every story.
• Engage viewers with crisp, conversational copy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of reporting experience, preferably with knowledge of the tri-state area.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work nights, mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Open to occasional travel for special assignments.
