About the position

WNDU Multimedia, a Gray Television station, is seeking a high-energy, creative Multimedia Journalist who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom environment. This position requires a self-motivated individual who enjoys generating story ideas, writing compelling scripts to video, and performing engaging live shots. The ideal candidate will be a team player, willing to do whatever is necessary to contribute to the success of the newsroom. The role involves covering breaking news, severe weather events, and conducting daily investigative reporting, all while developing lasting relationships with community members. Responsibilities

• Generate story ideas and develop engaging content for broadcast.
• Write scripts that effectively complement video footage.
• Perform live shots with confidence and clarity.
• Collaborate with newsroom staff to ensure cohesive news coverage.
• Build and maintain relationships with community members and sources.
• Adapt to breaking news situations and provide timely updates.
• Participate in daily editorial meetings to pitch story ideas and discuss coverage plans.

Requirements

• College degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle record.
