The Multimedia Specialist I position at the University of Florida involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including multimedia specialists, instructional designers, and faculty, to plan, produce, edit, and publish video projects that serve instructional, informational, and marketing purposes. The role emphasizes the importance of accessibility, requiring the specialist to coordinate captioning and ensure that all produced media meets accessibility standards. This includes working on a variety of resources such as graphics, photos, animations, and interactive learning objects, as well as HTML pages that are integral to the educational process. In addition to media production, the Multimedia Specialist I will assist in the development of course sites within the Learning Management System (LMS). Responsibilities include importing course media and content into new course shells, applying templates, and creating assessments and assignments on behalf of faculty. The specialist will also play a crucial role in ensuring that all online content is accessible, adhering to current WCAG guidelines and other accessibility requirements. The position supports blended and online instruction by troubleshooting technical issues and addressing faculty-reported problems. The expected salary for this role ranges from $19.49 to $22.67 per hour, depending on education and experience. This is a time-limited position that may offer flexible work arrangements, including hybrid or remote work options, though a campus presence is required weekly.
