About the position

As a Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will play a pivotal role in supporting our National Security customers by acting as their principal technical advisor. This position is not a sales role; instead, it focuses on helping customers across various industries and sizes to maximize the value and service they receive from AWS. You will be responsible for crafting and executing strategies that drive the adoption and effective use of AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS databases, Lambda, SageMaker, ECS/EKS, GuardDuty, Systems Manager, and CodePipeline. Your technical expertise and customer-facing skills will enable you to represent AWS effectively within customer environments and engage in discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents, trade-offs, support, and risk management. In this role, you will provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help customers plan and build solutions using best practices. You will proactively ensure that your customers' AWS environments remain operationally healthy. By developing close relationships with your customers, you will gain insights into their business and operational needs, as well as their technical challenges, allowing you to help them achieve the greatest value from AWS. This position requires a willingness to travel 10% or more as needed, and it is essential that candidates possess a current and active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal technical advisor for National Security customers.
  • Craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption of AWS services.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Ensure customers' AWS environments are operationally healthy.
  • Engage with senior leadership regarding incidents and risk management.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business needs and technical challenges.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technical engineering experience in a distributed systems environment.
  • Experience with operational parameters and troubleshooting for Compute, Storage, Networking, CDN, Databases, DevOps, Big Data and Analytics, Security, or Applications Development.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, or 3 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in operational parameters and troubleshooting for three or more of the following: Compute, Storage, Networking, CDN, Databases, DevOps, Big Data and Analytics, Security, Applications Development.
  • Experience in Information Technology operations.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting to decision makers.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
