About the position

The Senior Systems Administrator for the NCIS program at GDIT will be responsible for administering, managing, and maintaining Windows servers in a hybrid work environment. This role requires a strong background in systems administration, particularly with Windows Server 2019 and 2022, and involves troubleshooting, system recovery, and compliance with security standards. The position is critical in supporting the Naval Criminal Investigative Service's mission by ensuring the reliability and security of their IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, manage, and maintain Windows 2019 and 2022 servers.
  • Create, update, and maintain baseline Windows images including VDI.
  • Perform Windows Server patching in an operational environment.
  • Manage Domain controllers, Active Directory, LDAP, DNS servers, DHCP, and Group Policy Object.
  • Utilize PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
  • Monitor system networks and resources for performance and security.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems with business applications and hardware.
  • Deploy DISA STIGs controls and ensure system compliance.
  • Review and remediate ACAS vulnerability scan findings.
  • Oversee system recovery mechanisms and ensure data integrity.
  • Coordinate, communicate, and escalate required changes and major issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve system/server related problems.
  • Respond to technical support requests via telephone and email.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
  • 7+ years of Windows server and Systems Administration experience.
  • Experience maintaining and updating Windows images and understanding of VDI.
  • Prior experience with installation, operation, configuration, and maintenance of business and end-user application software in a large government installation.
  • Familiarity with a variety of technical support applications, concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Required Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, or CCNA-Security).
  • BS/BA Degree.
