About the position

Our customer is in need of a Network Architect to join their team on a contract basis. This is mostly remote (95%). Day to day: He or she will be doing discovery into their environment to determine where the gaps are, any redundancies and opportunities for efficiency. Mostly discovery efforts and planning. This person will play a critical role in helping to shape, design, and plan for transitioning over to the organizations environment. They want this person to come in and take the bull by the horns from a network architectural perspective. Helping with WAN upgrades, LAN connectivity, routing connectivity, internet connectivity, generally what you would see from an CCNP type of a resource. Someone with their CCIE, but someone who still rolls their sleeves up. Someone with strong architectural experience to where they designed networks for other organizations. They have 5 facilities that comprise the legacy network environment. They have 3 data centers in their environment. Must be strong with cisco products, but from an architect perspective. The OSI model would ideal for this position. For security, they use Cisco ASA, palo alto in their environment. Someone who has led architectural designing in the past, helping other engineers to understand the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct discovery into the network environment to identify gaps and redundancies.
  • Plan and design network architecture for transitioning to the organization's environment.
  • Assist with WAN upgrades and LAN connectivity.
  • Ensure routing and internet connectivity are optimized.
  • Lead architectural design efforts and guide other engineers.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in network engineering.
  • CCNP certification.
  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches.
  • Familiarity with WAN and LAN technologies.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCIE certification.
  • Experience with Cisco ASA for security.
  • Previous experience in designing networks for organizations.
