About the position

The Network Architect is a pivotal role at Madison Square Garden Entertainment and Sphere Entertainment Corporation, responsible for the development and design of the network infrastructure that supports the business operations. This position is crucial for defining architecture and engineering standards, leading mission-critical network design efforts, and developing network automation solutions. The Network Architect will also be responsible for documenting best practices, system monitoring, analytics, and providing top-tier operational support. In this enterprise-level role, the Network Architect will execute a holistic strategy and tactical execution plan for implementation, ensuring that investments lead to a resilient network architecture. This architecture must be scalable to meet the growing business needs while minimizing mean time to repair and time between incidents. The role requires collaboration across various business disciplines to collect and define both business and technical requirements efficiently and economically. The Network Architect will work closely with cross-infrastructure teams, including architects and technical leads from storage, compute, and applications, to establish technical strategies and architectural design standards. This position will also involve networking initiatives across all venues and office environments, identifying and consulting with internal and external technical resources to produce strategic engineering designs and innovative solutions. The role demands the conceptualization, design, validation, and testing of complex global network architectures that support voice, video, data, and content rendering technology. The Network Architect will design and implement highly resilient network solutions capable of withstanding system failures and other infrastructure impairments, adopting a global mindset and a “never fail” mentality. Additionally, the architect will design virtual network services to support business applications and communication platforms, ensuring quality of service and micro-services across the network. Participation in internal and external groups is expected, where the Network Architect will address peers on technical issues, initiate presentations, and represent the team in external technical groups.
