About the position

The Network Engineer - Data - III position at The Judge Group Inc. involves engineering and managing complex network architectures, specifically focusing on spine and leaf fabric networks in mobile switching centers. The role requires a strong understanding of various networking technologies and protocols, as well as hands-on experience with network virtualization and automation tools. The engineer will be responsible for translating network designs into configurations, overseeing network builds, and ensuring timely project delivery while collaborating with design and architecture teams.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for engineering spine and leaf fabric architecture networks in mobile switching centers across the western US territory.
  • Translate network designs into usable configurations within the spine/leaf network.
  • Build Methods of Procedure and/or use automated workflows to check initial connectivity and deploy initial configuration to spine/leaf networks.
  • Build networks for interconnection to Cloud Platforms (VCP) for growth, capacity, and expansion.
  • Engineer network solutions with strong interaction with PNF and VNF applications teams.
  • Work with underlay and overlay controllers for network creation, modeling, and deployments.
  • Oversee network builds from procurement to 'In Service'.
  • Interact with design and architecture teams to develop future networks.
  • Collaborate with peer teams to ensure new networks are built and migrated to meet KPIs.
  • Manage network engineering projects to deliver on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Experience with IP Layer 1-3 for Edge Networks and strong knowledge of MPLS.
  • Experience with MPLS Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization of networks.
  • Functional knowledge of TCP/IP (IPv4 and IPv6).
  • Hands-on experience with VXLAN and/or Segment Routing.
  • Experience building Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and deploying network configurations.
  • Five or more years of relevant work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Worked with Cisco (VTS), Itential (IAP) or HPNA automation tools.
  • Understanding of networking-specific technologies: IPV6, L2VPN, L3VPN, OSPFv3, mp-BGP, QOS/Traffic Engineering, MPLS (LDP & TDP), inter-AS MPLS, and m-VPN.
  • Cisco and Nokia or other networking certifications.
  • A telecommunications background.
  • Strong ability to understand end-to-end call flows for deploying network services.
  • Knowledge of or prior experience with cloud and scripting experience in Linux, Openstack, Python, and virtualization.
