Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking Network Engineers at various grade levels to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. These positions will be located in Melbourne, FL. The Network Engineer in this role must possess in-depth knowledge of computers and electronics for mission processing and data storage and experience in the definition, design, integration, test, and certification of related hardware and software requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret, allocate, tailor, write and flow down requirements to all levels of a system architecture
  • Design and develop computer and network architectures, perform hardware integration and testing, and requirements analysis
  • Conduct trade studies, document subsystem architectures, analyze performance, and evaluate Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offerings
  • Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate mission management subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support
  • Develop supplier documentation, performance based specifications, and statements of work
  • Build supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
  • Review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
  • Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated experience in Ethernet-based networking design, to include IP address planning, switching, and routing
  • Working knowledge of cyber security and Risk Managed Framework (RMF), STIGs and associated elements
  • Experience with integration of COTS electronics into military systems
  • Current expertise with network architecture, network design, requirement specifications, and equipment selection with ability to generate, coordinate and maintain network designs and configuration artifacts
  • In depth knowledge of, and experience with, routing and switching concepts and protocols to include IPSEC, BGP, and OSPF
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems
