Responsibilities

  • Efficiently identify and mitigate networking incidents to minimize customer impacts.
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
  • Work with other team members and groups to analyze requirements or potential problems and proactively develop solutions and policy recommendations.
  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of Top Secret, classified networks from inception and design to qualification and validation, through deployment, operation, and optimization.
  • Partner with internal application groups and design network infrastructure which meets their networking requirements.
  • Lead development of production network infrastructure through published engineering design documents and specifications.
  • Maintain visibility into all aspects of network health through telemetry collection, cloud service logging, and analysis.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors in Computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline.
  • Required Experience: 15+ years; 3 years of experience in the networking industry.
  • Experience with network maintenance, installation, and design for service providers or large enterprise networks.
  • Broad understanding of network theory, network protocols at Layers-2-4, and the operation of routing protocols (OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS).
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with active polygraph.
  • Location: On Customer Site - Tysons.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of STIG Hardening and configurations for network devices.
  • Experience with implementation and integration of Type-1 Encryption and network encryption devices.
  • Experience with field-based work in POPs, carrier hotels, and/or data centers.
  • Familiarity with overlay networking protocols and software defined networking concepts (VXLAN and Kubernetes).
  • Willingness to participate in shift work in a network operations center environment.
  • Experience creating rack elevations and other planned/install/as-built documentation.
