About The Position

As a Network Engineer with GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming technology into opportunity by developing and managing state-of-the-art network architectures. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain both wired and wireless networks, ensuring that the systems are secure and efficient. You will be responsible for migrating networks to new facilities, documenting network designs, and working with cloud technologies to enhance network capabilities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience in network engineering.
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying wireless networks.
• Experience installing applications on Windows systems such as Servers and Desktops.
• Experience working with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
• Experience with deployment task sequencing and network hardware.
• Experience with the systems and network accreditation process.
• Experience with services such as Cisco Umbrella and Cisco Meraki.
• Experience architecting, designing, and configuring Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Experience with Windows Active Directory infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

• Experience developing and managing a Microsoft Azure environment.
• Experience taking customer requirements and architecting a network solution that includes data, voice, and video.

Responsibilities

• Develop a new wireless network and support the current wireless network.
• Support two wired networks and the testing and assessment network.
• Prepare documentation for gaining approval of System Security Plans (SSPs).
• Collaborate with learning enterprise partners to ensure network requirements are met.
• Migrate all three networks to a new facility.
• Document Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) activities.
• Administer computer networks and perform network architecture tasks.
• Work with cloud migration technologies, such as Microsoft Azure.
• Design and configure networks as needed and coordinate network support from vendors.
• Participate in internal and external meetings regarding network planning and implementation.
