About The Position

The Network Engineer position at The Ohio State University involves comprehensive management and oversight of data center and access layer networks utilizing Arista and Cisco hardware. Requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and optimization of technology solutions for network infrastructure built on Cisco and Arista hardware.
• Support the design, maintenance, and enhancement of the network systems environment, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Provide support in managing Cisco and Arista solutions across the Medical Center networks, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Assist in leveraging tools, including Arista's Cloud Vision platform, for improved network visibility and control in both on-premises and cloud-hosted environments.
• Support the operation and maintenance of network and monitoring systems to maintain stability, performance, and security.
• Provide assistance in addressing network-related issues and ensuring the smooth functioning of data center network operations.
• Contribute to the analysis and planning for implementing and scaling of network infrastructure.
• Assist in the integration and management of network environments, focusing on optimizing performance and ensuring scalability.
• Aid in upgrading network systems hardware, software, and support systems in line with ITIL/ITSM practices.
• Participate in projects involving network systems integration with business and IT solutions.
• Provide technical support and insights in network systems.
• Assist in aligning network system requirements with IT and business objectives to support strategic initiatives.
• Participate in the on-call rotation supporting the data center network, enterprise networks, and all other network services across the Medical Center.
