About the position

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Government Services team, which operates in various locations across the United States, including Columbus, OH; Maxwell AFB, AL; and Tinker AFB, OK. This role is pivotal in supporting our clients by focusing on engineering and design, as well as managing Tier 4 network escalations within customer environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network engineering, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the field, and will be responsible for implementing and supporting complex multi-vendor routing and switching infrastructures. As a Network Engineer, you will be expected to demonstrate technical expertise in Data Center and Enterprise Routing and Switching. You will troubleshoot large enterprise networks and provide guidance to clients on technical concepts, ensuring they understand the solutions being implemented. Your role will also involve network topology modeling analysis and supporting new technology solutions such as Ansible automation and SD-WAN/SD-DC. You will be responsible for developing build of materials lists, obtaining quotes, and producing technology refresh plans, all while working independently and managing multiple project tasks efficiently. In addition to your technical skills, you will need to have experience with network security devices, including IPS/IDS, firewalls, load balancers, and encryption devices. Familiarity with cloud networking and structured cabling installation is also essential. Responsibilities

  • Support the Government Services team in various locations across the US.
  • Focus on engineering and design while managing Tier 4 network escalations.
  • Implement and support multi-vendor complex routing and switching infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot large enterprise networks effectively.
  • Explain technical concepts and provide guidance to clients.
  • Conduct network topology modeling analysis.
  • Support new technology solutions like Ansible automation and SD-WAN/SD-DC.
  • Develop build of materials lists and produce technology refresh plans.
  • Work independently and manage multiple project tasks simultaneously.
  • Support network security devices and ensure secure configurations.

Requirements

  • Secret Security clearance required.
  • 4+ years minimum experience in Network Engineering.
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • DOD 8570 IAT LVL II certification required.
  • Vendor Associates or higher level network certification.
  • Experience with Data Center, VOIP, network and security engineering and design.
  • Experience with network and security automation preferred.
  • Familiarity with F5 Networks BIG-IP ASM and LTM.
  • Familiarity with Cisco basic switch configurations and segment routing.
  • Familiarity with Juniper Networks SRX series firewalls configurations and management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Other industry product experience and certifications preferred.
  • Experience working with Network Management and Analysis tools.
  • Experience working with cloud networking.
