Network Engineer

About the position

The position involves providing support and input on designs of the 5G production network. The role includes developing, documenting, and analyzing the overall 5G and NextGen Core architecture of systems, including application and software. The candidate will determine integrated architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs, and coordinate the design and integration of the total system including subsystems. Additionally, the role requires researching and recommending technology to improve current systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy network solutions for telecommunications services.
• Perform regular network assessments, identifying opportunities for improvements in speed, scalability, and security.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and reports for network performance, outages, and changes.
• Work closely with various Engineers and other internal support teams to ensure optimal network performance.
• Provide technical support in diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
• Assist with troubleshooting for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Adhere to industry best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with telecommunications standards and protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering within the telecommunications industry.
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, etc.).
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and SDN (Software-Defined Networking) is a plus.
• Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA, or CompTIA Network+ preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and automation tools (e.g., PCF) is a plus.
