About the position

The Network Engineer position at Trace Systems Inc. is responsible for managing and maintaining complex LAN/WAN communications and network hardware. This role requires in-depth knowledge of various networking protocols and technologies, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve network outages. The engineer will work on projects involving the installation of new devices and ongoing maintenance of the network infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure communication systems for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage local and wide area networks, including installation of new devices and ongoing maintenance of infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve network outages.
  • Submit accurate and timely updates for all assigned projects and system tests.
  • Work with complex LAN/WAN communications and network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls.
  • Utilize routing protocols including RIP, EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Implement and manage technologies like MPLS, VPLS, and VPNs.
  • Administer multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, and network security devices.
  • Ensure compliance with various network standards and protocols.

Requirements

  • An Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work and contract requirements.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of in-depth knowledge of complex LAN/WAN communications and network hardware.
  • In-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with MPLS, VPLS, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with Wireless technologies and Riverbeds.
  • Well versed in advanced engineering and administration of network management systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is preferred.
