Network Engineer

SPA's IT team has an immediate need for a Network Engineer in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the implementation of network projects in both enterprise and classified networks, in accordance with change management policies.
• Staying abreast of new and future technologies.

Requirements

• 5-7 years' experience with a bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (e.g., cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering) or 7+ years' equivalent experience in networking
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with switches, routers, routing protocols (especially BGP), and SDWAN platforms
• Experience in access control lists, firewalls, IPSs, load balancing, VPN technologies, and other security technologies
• Broad understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the networking field
• Experience with cloud networking technologies, including Azure
• Understanding of DoD and networking baselines and compliance requirements (i.e., CMMC, RMF, C2C), including implementing DISA STIGS
• Experience configuring and implementing network access control solutions, such as Cisco ISE, in secure environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Possession of or ability to obtain a DoD 8140/8570 baseline certification and relevant specific technology training within 6 months of initial employment
• One or more of the following vendor-specific professional certifications: Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba.
