We are currently seeking a Network Security Advisor to join our team in Washington (Hybrid), District of Columbia (US-DC), United States (US).

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Physical Science, other technology or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum 8 years of network security engineering experience to include security requirements analysis and information security system design
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco routing expertise (e.g., Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) 4)
  • Fortinet routing expertise (e.g., Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) 4)
  • Knowledge of router and switches sufficient to select appropriate equipment and produce physical design
  • Expert knowledge of Internet Protocol (IP) v4 and IPv6
  • Knowledge of VPN terminating equipment and client design. Specific knowledge of Cisco IPsec products and features
  • Juniper Firewall
  • Knowledge of access servers and access protocols such as radius and Terminal Access Controller Access Control System (TACACS) as well as authentication principles and backend user database integration
  • Network security knowledge to design and configure VPN access controls (Cisco and Juniper VPN configuration)
  • Knowledge of remote access technologies, such as Satellite and modem connectivity
  • Knowledge of 2-Factor Authentication implementation
  • Knowledge of Active Directory services for use in VPN user authentication
  • Knowledge of Network Cloud integration
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust Architectures and Principles
  • Knowledge of SASE controls and protocols
  • Knowledge of IT Network Infrastructure
  • Knowledge of WIFI Networks
  • Knowledge of WIFI technologies, specifically the HP-ARUBA Secure Wireless Networks and Cisco
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 automation products, including MS-Word, MS-Excel, MSPowerPoint, and MS-Project
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products, including email and calendars, and native Microsoft documents, presentations, spreadsheets, forms, and development and maintenance of Microsoft Office 365 sites
  • Knowledge of Microsoft InTune

Responsibilities

  • Gather and document user network requirements utilizing multiple methodologies to provide necessary technical documentation, system requirements documents, systems security requirements documents, and system test plan.
  • Provides the expertise to conduct systems analysis, certification and accreditation, integration of secure products, security test and evaluation, and development of complex information systems to meet information system security requirements.
  • A broad knowledge of the technical information systems security discipline is required.
  • Performs test event-based network security analysis, top-level test requirements development, functional data analysis and assessment.
  • Apply technical and business experience and understanding to improve processes and procedures for deploying and maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Performs standard project tasks to analyze information security requirements, translate these into security designs, implements these designs, and tests effectiveness.
  • Has working knowledge of standard information security products including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus systems, vulnerability testing, and security analysis tools.
  • Competence in all phases of security requirements analysis, and information security system design as well as available products, and management practices.
  • Understanding of U.S. Government security policy including Department of Defense and appropriate civil agencies such as NIST, as well as commercial 'best practices'.
  • Duty station is primarily on-site at one of the following Government owned or operated locations, Reston, VA, Denver, CO., Washington, DC, with the ability for telework.
