About the position

At Dimensional, the Technology Department is at the forefront of leveraging cutting-edge technology to engineer platforms that power innovative, research-driven financial and technical products aimed at enhancing our clients' financial lives. As the Network Manager, you will lead the Network Engineering team, taking charge of the design, development, and maintenance of our network infrastructure and automation. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our network is reliable, scalable, and secure, aligning with industry standards and best practices. You will collaborate closely with development and operations teams to create a robust network environment that supports our business objectives. In this position, you will manage a global team of network engineers, providing mentorship and development opportunities to foster career growth and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include designing and deploying a resilient global network infrastructure that encompasses data centers and cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. You will also be tasked with developing and implementing network strategies for Hybrid Cloud environments, utilizing advanced technologies such as VXLAN for network virtualization and segmentation. As a champion of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, you will leverage tools like Ansible and Terraform to automate network provisioning and management tasks, ensuring processes are scalable and repeatable. Your role will also involve overseeing core networking protocols and services, such as BGP and MPLS, optimizing routing and traffic management to meet business needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective network solutions, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with industry standards related to network security and data protection. Additionally, you will lead incident response efforts and root cause analysis for network issues, implementing preventive measures to minimize downtime and impact on operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a global team of network engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, and development opportunities.
  • Design, deploy, and manage a resilient global network infrastructure, including data centers and cloud environments.
  • Develop and implement network strategies and architectures for Hybrid Cloud environments, leveraging technologies such as VXLAN.
  • Lead the deployment and management of micro-segmentation methods to protect network traffic and improve performance.
  • Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, utilizing tools like Ansible and Terraform for automation.
  • Oversee the management of core networking protocols and services, including BGP and MPLS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into network solutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for network services and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to network security.
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis for network issues, implementing preventive measures.
  • Stay abreast of emerging networking technologies and trends, driving innovation in network services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering and operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing a global team.
  • Proven expertise in designing and managing complex network infrastructures, including experience with VXLAN, BGP, MPLS, hybrid cloud environments and micro-segmentation.
  • Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering an environment of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with implementing a Zero Trust security model.
  • Track record of implementing NIST 800-37, CIS, SANS, and other security controls.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewall, VMWare, NSX, VRA.
  • Familiarity with principles of WAN design to support real-time video streaming.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools including SolarWinds, ELK, and Grafana.
  • Experience with Unified Communications / Telephony systems including Cisco, Microsoft Teams, and voice recording tools.
  • Experience with video conferencing technology including Zoom, Webex, and Microsoft Teams.
