About The Position

The Network Systems Engineer will be responsible for managing and upgrading the network infrastructure of a Dallas-based non-profit organization. This role emphasizes cloud security and network engineering, requiring extensive experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Azure. The ideal candidate will also have proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and will work closely with development teams to support application security and network upgrades.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Client Operating Systems, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, WLAN, and network/routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and firewalls).
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure, software-defined networking (IaaS, PaaS, SDN), and virtualization technologies.
• Hands-on experience with scripting/automation tools such as PowerShell, Bicep, Python, or Ansible.

Nice To Haves

• Professional certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, SANS GIAC (GPPA, GCIA), MCSA, or MCSE are highly desirable.
• Strong cybersecurity knowledge, including intrusion detection/prevention systems, PKI/SSL certificate management, and firewall configuration.
• Experience with DDoS protection and compliance with SEC/HIPAA regulations.
• Proficiency in load balancing technologies (Azure, F5, A10), Single Sign-On (SSO) implementation, Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux command line operations.
