About The Position

The New Business Manager at US Foods is responsible for sourcing and developing profitable new business opportunities that can be transitioned to a Territory Manager. The role focuses on pursuing high-potential sales leads to convert them into customers, achieving annual sales and profit operating plans, and providing strategic support to Territory Managers. The position requires developing a business plan to capture market share and producing new account revenue in line with organizational targets.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years sales experience required, preferably in the foodservice industry.
  • Experience opening accounts greater than $0.5 million.
  • Exceptional sales and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to warm, convert, and close high-potential accounts.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to present in front of large groups using creative presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated, results-driven, and able to work autonomously.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the foodservice industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Source and develop profitable new business opportunities for transition to Territory Managers.
  • Pursue high-potential sales leads to convert them into US Foods customers.
  • Develop a business plan to capture market share within the division's footprint.
  • Produce new account revenue in line with targets, aiming for a minimum of $2 million in the first year and $6 million annually thereafter.
  • Utilize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to focus on opening new accounts and increasing sales and gross profit dollars.
  • Research potential customer requirements and analyze market trends to inform sales strategies.
  • Work with Category and Segment Specialists to create pricing and order guides for prospective accounts.
  • Complete new customer credit applications and facilitate onboarding processes.
  • Maintain relationships with key decision-makers and leverage industry contacts.
  • Attend sales meetings, food shows, and industry events to network with prospective accounts.
