About the position

The New Model Business Project Leader is responsible for managing all New Model Development Purchasing activities for ATV/SxS/PE products at Honda. This role focuses on achieving quality, cost, and delivery targets while ensuring effective communication and coordination among various divisions. The leader will oversee project schedules, lead problem-solving initiatives, and maintain documentation to support the company's objectives of innovation and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute maker layout setting, tooling, part delivery, BOM creation, NMR and cost evaluations for assigned new model projects.
  • Ensure clear, concise New Model objectives/targets for PSP Manufacturing division and PSP Purchasing division in support of HM/AH objectives.
  • Manage purchasing overall project schedule including coordinating tasks to meet deadlines, leading project meetings, and preparing proposals and presentations for project evaluations.
  • Communicate the purchasing direction and project results to management, executives, and SEDB team members including counterparts in Japan.
  • Lead Purchasing related new model project problem solving and countermeasure activity while balancing development QCD.
  • Apply situational leadership principles to navigate diverse viewpoints, unique technical challenges, and business constraints.
  • Coordinate with development, manufacturing, sales and purchasing divisions new model project teams to guarantee readiness for major milestones such as project evaluations, build events and initial mass production launch.
  • Monitor project risks and elevate concerns to project stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project development documentation and records as required by department, division, and Company guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Associates degree and 5+ years of related work experience may be substituted.
  • 3 years project leadership experience.
  • Experience in PSP manufacturing, quality and/or purchasing functions desired.
  • Understanding of B-side New Model Roles and Responsibilities.
  • Understanding of SEDB (Sales, Manufacturing, R&D, Purchasing) functions.
  • Understanding of New Model development characteristics (timelines, schedules, etc.).
  • Excellent multi-tasking, prioritizing, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to positively influence & motivate team members.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
